The Responsible Chain is a collective approach that brings together all players from upstream to downstream around a set of best-practice specifications monitored by an independent third-party organization.

In the Responsible chain, wheat will no longer be processed after harvest.

The Responsible specification is based on a number of best practices:

  • Conservation of wheat without post-harvest treatment.
  • Farmers’ or storage organizations’ storage units are equipped with ventilation and cooling systems to preserve grain and guarantee its optimum quality throughout the year.
  • The isolation of wheat from the chain to ensure traceability.
  • Implementation of a progress plan to reduce the use of plant protection products.
